This paper presents a 12 year history starting with a more systematic and structured Health, environment and safety activity throughout the company. We are thus going from a reactive approach to a more proactive approach to find weaknesses before we have accidents and incidents and thus learn more about what to do on the preventive side.
The paper presents the process with goal setting, action programmes and follow-up (Plan-Act-Control-Correct) and the results so far. Research activities involved, e.g. on measurement of behaviour/attitude and training top management in these disciplines will be discussed.
