Incomparable Risks. Sven

Comparisons between risks are often felt to be difficult or even impossible. This paper deals with the notion of incomparability or incommensurability of risks. A typology is introduced, that distinguishes between three major types of incomparabilities: frame incomparability, epistemic incomparability, and value incomparability. Some guidelines are proposed for dealing with the different types of incomparability.
