The comparative risk screening analysis used through Project Risk Assessment/Risk Management evaluated seven major environmental problems in Zilina study area - air pollution, surface and ground water pollution, food and drinking water contamination, waste management and soil contamination. The analyses focused on human health risk , only in the case of surface water were assessed ecological effects. For all issues were established work groups for collection and analysisng available date, information, conducting analyses (modeling, map development) and preparing risk assessment.
Air pollution is an important public health problem in most urban cities of the world. Our poster present the results of a screening analyses of health risks from air pollution in the Zilina town.
Estimated emissions from large and middle sources (TSP, SO2, NOx, heavy metals).
Estimated air quality from monitoring (TSP, SO2, NOx, heavy metals in dustfall, heavy metals in PM).
Estimated emissions from traffic in Zilina.
Air dispersion model (SO2, NOx, heavy metals).
Air dispersion model and monitoring for monitoring for organic pollutants (methanol, toluen, trichlorethylen, methhylmethacrylate) from PCHZ factory Zilina.
Model results for metals were used to estimate potential cancer risk for population in Zilina.
