Announcement
September 26, 1997. The
Presidential/Congressional Commission on Risk Assessment and Risk Management, which was
mandated as part of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990, was disbanded on August 31,
1997, with some staff work continuing into September. This home page for the Commission
will continue to be maintained by RiskWorld for some months to come, as will all
the associated documents linked to on this home page. Today, RiskWorld is adding
the following three documents to this collection:

Volume 1 of Final Report. The full text of Volume 1 of the final report of the
Presidential/Congressional Commission on Risk Assessment and Risk Management, Framework
for Environmental Health Risk Management, is available in RiskWorld in both HTML and PDF

Volume 2 of Final Report. The full text of Volume 2 of the final report of the
Presidential/Congressional Commission on Risk Assessment and Risk Management, Risk
Assessment and Risk Management in Regulatory Decision-Making, is available in RiskWorld

Draft Report. The full text of the Commission's draft report issued on June 13,

Other Commission Releases
Press Release, March 7, 1997. The
Commission issued 71 recommendations to improve federal agency approaches to environmental
and health threats.
Federal Register notice, January
17, 1997. The Commission announced that it would release Volume I of its final
report on January 29, 1997.
Press Release, October 9, 1996. The Commission
announced that over 100 comments on the draft report had been received. On the basis of
the comments, the report will be published in two volumes, the first in January and the
second in February.
