PARIS, Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/
-- The home page of a Web site is suddenly replaced by racist insults or
pornographic images... Valuable customer files are stolen and handed over
to the competition... As information systems increase in accessibility to
a larger public, malicious acts like these are quickly becoming a more
common experience for companies each day.
Faced with armies of hackers, the resources that companies have
dedicated to efficiently protect themselves against break-ins are still
negligible. With more than three new vulnerabilities discovered each day
and with the number and complexity of situations encountered, controlling
hacking risks has become particularly difficult and almost impossible to
ignore in order for information systems to operate successfully. This is why CYRANO, in partnership with Networks Vigilance, has
developed a seminar to help operational and functional managers to better
understand the problems of network security. INFORMATION SYSTEMS VULNERABILITY Analyzing Internet Risk This seminar allows the participants to: The seminar is split into three sessions: 1. Network Security Analysis Threats, Risks, Consequences, and Reasons During the first part of the seminar, CYRANO will use, as examples,
actual cases of recently revealed security failures to answer the
following questions: Workshop No.1 Damaged sites -- Analysis of their specific vulnerability, and of
techniques and tools used. Vulnerability database -- Learn where to find information about the
latest vulnerabilities. 2. How to Improve Network Security Methods and Strategy During this part of the seminar, CYRANO will focus on: Workshop No.2 Create or improve a security policy that is custom-made for the
company. 3. Audit of Network Vulnerability Practical Case During this part of the seminar, CYRANO will emphasize a critical
component in improving your network security strategy and will answer the
following questions: Workshop No.3 Initiate an audit of a firewall and of an existing network, using NV
e-secure, one of the latest network vulnerability audit tools. Review and improve, if necessary, the security policy implemented
during workshop No.2. To satisfy large entry demand, two-days seminars are scheduled in
February and March 2001 in Paris. Next dates: February 5 and 6, February 19 and 20, March 12 and 13 Fee
