The International Association for Probabilistic Safety Assessment and Management's PSAM-III conference, which will convene with the European Safety and Reliability Association's ESREL '96 conference on June 24-28 in Crete, Greece, has attracted more than 500 abstracts--a record number. The joint conference, for which the Society for Risk Analysis is a cosponsor, will present innovative methods and relevant applications of system-based approaches to improve the design and operation of technological systems and processes from the economic and safety points of view.
The conference site is the Capsis Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Centre in the picturesque Aghia Pelaghia region. Because Crete is a popular resort center and the end of June is in the peak tourist season, the hotel will guarantee conference rates and room availability only if reservations are made by March 31.
The preliminary program is available and includes information
on ordering the conference proceedings. (Participants will
receive a copy of the proceedings included in their registration
fee.) For general conference information, send a request to fax
