Third Quarter 1996, published by the Society for Risk Analysis
What do Society for Risk Analysis members think would improve SRA? Are there services you would like to receive, such as information on what is going on or being published in risk analysis beyond the scope of SRA? How can the Society attract new members? Should SRA be proactive in some field, such as risk education (for whom) or public commentary (when)? Is SRA doing things now that need to be changed or eliminated? Would you pay more for more services? Or is everything just fine?
The SRA Advisory Board asks SRA members to consider these questions and to send the Board their responses so that it can have the benefit of them as it considers what to suggest to the SRA president and Council.
The Board, established by the SRA Council in 1994 to stimulate further development of the Society, has two new members, Lawrence W. Barnthouse of Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Catherine L. St. Hilaire of Hershey Foods Corporation. The charter Board members are Chair Paul F. Deisler Jr., retired from Shell Oil Company; William H. Farland, U. S. Environmental Protection Agency; Ann B. Fisher, Pennsylvania State University; and B. John Garrick, PLG Inc.
Please send your succinctly and clearly expressed thoughts
concerning these questions or other matters to Paul F. Deisler
Jr., Chair, SRA Advisory Board, P. O. Box 5819, Austin, TX 78763.
