The Federal Communications Commission, which ensures that all wireless
phones sold in the United States follow safety guidelines limiting
radiofrequency (RF) energy, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which
monitors the health effects of wireless telephones, have established a Web
site to provide consumer information on wireless phones and RF energy,
including a review of how cell phones work and answers to questions raised
about their safety. (Posted May 2002.)
