Responding First to Bioterrorism

The National Academy of Sciences has launched a Web site designed to help the "first responder" community -- local police, firefighters, and emergency medical professionals -- more easily locate valuable bioterrorism preparedness information resources, including a collection of links to guide a search for credible, science-based information on counterterrorism topics and an index of more than 3,000 related Web pages in the NAS collection. In addition, the site includes the latest information on work that the National Academies is doing on counterterrorism, including study descriptions, meeting agendas, and full-text publications. (Posted June 2002.)
