Center for Professional Education at the College of Insurance

The College of Insurance has been serving insurance professionals since 1901. Through its Center for Professional Education, the College can provide training for advancing careers, passing national exams, and obtaining certification or designations. It can also help with preparation to get a license as a New York insurance broker or agent and with obtaining the continuing education credit needed to renew licenses in New York and New Jersey (and eventually in Connecticut). In addition, the center offers seminars and workshops on a wide variety of topics of interest to the insurance, risk management and financial services community, including contracts analysis, reinsurance, finance, and the management of financial services organizations. FEMA's Emergency Management Institute

The Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Emergency Management Institute (EMI) provides training to enhance U.S. emergency management practices through a nationwide program of (1) resident instruction on the National Emergency Training Center campus in Emmitsburg, Maryland (75 miles north of Washington, D.C.), (2) non-resident instruction conducted by State emergency management agencies, and (3) distance learning programs such as independent study courses and the Emergency Education NETwork (EENET), which takes interactive training programs via satellite into virtually any community nationwide.

One of FEMA's goals is to encourage and support the spread of emergency management-related education in colleges and universities across the United States. To further this end, the Emergency Management Institute Higher Education Project provides an annotated listing of Colleges, Universities, and Institutions Offering Emergency Management Courses, including institutions that offer emergency management certificates or degrees.
