WebRing

This site navigation and linking service (the system) for creating on-line communities, called rings, enables Internet users to find and link to a variety of unaffiliated host computers around the world that choose to link themselves by joining a ring on a particular subject. The system also allows people who already have web pages to create a ring, linking pages on a similar subject matter, or to join an existing ring on the system. Visitors can locate rings through the service's directory or search tool. The service is free for members (sites that link to a ring) and for visitors. (Posted February 2000.)
